Awards & Scholarships

There are dozens of awards specifically for BASc students.  Details about these awards, their application requirements, and other awards can be found on the Awards Search Tool.  First filter using CSAHS as your college. Then on the next screen you can narrow your search using the blue box on the top right.  Use the drop down menu to select BASC as your program.

Please note that to qualify for an in-course award, you need to be registered in courses in the September after you apply.  Thus, even though you apply in May, winners of most awards will not be announced until later in the fall.

In-course students should watch the CSAHS instagram account, your courselink accounts and their uoguelph.ca email for reminders about award application deadlines.

There are two new BASc - Applied Human Nutrition (AHN) awards available for application to the list of other awards with an October 7^th due date for application. The two awards just added to the award listings are:

No Life Like It - Applied Human Nutrition Bursary [I3173]

• Value: 1 award of $2,500
• Awarded: In the winter and the recipient must be registered to receive
• Application: In-Course Financial Need Assessment Form
• Deadline: October 7
• Citizenship: Canadian-PR-PP

Betty Brousse graduated from Macdonald Institute, University of Guelph, with a Bachelor of Household Science (Foods and Nutrition) in 1970. She enjoyed an amazing career in the Canadian Armed Forces, whose motto at the time of her enlistment was "There is no life like it" and she believed that her entire career. Betty is delighted to now support and encourage others as they pursue their dreams. Apply by October 7 to Student Financial Services with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form (N.A.F.). Selection will be based on financial need. This bursary can only be held once.

Students registered in the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) program, majoring in Applied Human Nutrition who have completed a minimum of 5.0 credits and have demonstrated financial need.

Nutrition Achievement Scholarship [I1526]

• Value: 1 award of $2,500
• Awarded: In the fall and the recipient must be registered to receive
• Application: In-Course Financial Need Assessment Form
• Deadline: October 7
• Citizenship: Canadian-PR-PP

This award is established to commemorate Janine Schweitzer's 50th anniversary of graduation from the Applied Human Nutrition Program at the University of Guelph. Janine shares, "My motivation for establishing this scholarship for students in the Applied Human Nutrition Program stems from recalling how grateful I was to receive scholarships during my undergraduate years at the U of G in recognition of strong academic standing and leadership potential." Apply by October 7 to Student Financial Services with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form (N.A.F.). Selection will be based on financial need. The award can only be held once.

Students registered in the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) program, majoring in Applied Human Nutrition who have completed a minimum of 4.5 credits and who have demonstrated financial need.
