Director of Clinical Training, RPTP and Co-Director of Maplewoods Centre

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day operation of the Maplewoods Centre and clinical training components of the RPTP Suite of Programs
  • Provides on going supervision to Therapist Interns
  • Teaches two courses FRAN *6160 Introduction to Systemic ideas in Couple and Family Therapy and FRAN *6095 Externship in Couple and Family Therapy

Kevin has been a practicing clinician for over 20 years. Prior to becoming the Director of Clinical Training , he operated a fulltime private practice (1997-2015) served as external consultant to the Homewood Health Centre (2006-2013); and was the Executive Director of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (2007-2009). He has taught over 30 graduate and undergraduate courses as a sessional instructor or contract faculty at the University of Guelph, as well as having conducted numerous personal growth and training workshops. He is a clinical supervisor and has provided supervision through various Practicums as well as privately.  Kevin has taken an active role in the development of the profession having served as advocacy chair and steering committee member of the Ontario Coalition of Mental Health Professionals. In 2009, Kevin was appointed by the Minister of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) to the transitional Council for the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).  As a transitional Council member he was five times elected to the Executive Committee from 2009-2017, chaired the Quality Assurance, ICRC and the Professional Practice Committees, where he oversaw the development of the Professional Misconduct Regulation; Quality Assurance Regulation; Professional Practice Standards and the Code of Ethics. In 2015 Kevin was elected to the first Council for the new College where he serves as Chair of the ICRC and as a subject matter expert on Psychotherapy to the multi college committee established by the MOHLTC to define the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy.
